Things To Do:
Oak Island is known for its golden sand beaches, calming blue waters, friendly community, and close proximity to the cities of Southport, Wilmington, and Myrtle Beach. There are many cute island coffee stores, stores, breweries, and a park that showcases a splash pad for summer fun! With a handsome Golf Club open to summer travelers and over 100 public water access points, there is an abundance of all things adventurous to do on Oak Island!

If you'd like to keep your exercise routine going while on vacation, you can get an out-of-town Gym pass at Oak Island Recreation Center. Utilize the Rec Center's ample parking, put in at the Kayak ramp and spend hours kayaking our striking marshes.  Sit on the lawn and appreciate a nighttime off cooking at our Weekly Friday nighttime "Summer Concert In The Park" with a couple of local food truck options at this family centric Live Music event. Beach Day takes place in Oak Island on the Friday prior to July 4th and features all day activities followed by fireworks on the island that evening.

Visit Historic Southport, a seafaring town just five miles from our island, for a bigger nightlife. Southport, at the confluence of the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean, features a variety of different eateries, bars, live music and shopping. It is one of our favorite places to walk around and check out different food and live music on the weekends. There are complimentary parking options all over town, and you can effortlessly walk to dozens of places while appreciating the breeze from the riverfront and admiring historic homes and general store buildings that date back to the early 1800s. Southport's State Fourth of July Festival is a three-day street fair with artists from all over the state, vendors, and food. It is really like being in an Andy Griffith episode with the parade and sizable finale fireworks show over the riverfront in Southport.
We look forward to your visit!

Our top Rental home booking tips:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your Carolina Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting the perfect rental home in the Carolina Beach area:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Ask about a $174.46 linens discount! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a certain Carolina Beach destination you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
