Tips for getting the best Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Selecting the perfect rental in the Carolina Beach area:

  • Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Family Ocean-View Retreat 4BR\/3BA, Like Home! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
