Tricks and tips to get the optimal Carolina Beach rental home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Carolina Beach rental home:

  • To find the best value, try shifting your family's Carolina Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Dog Friendly 2 BR Condo - OceanWalk, Large pool, Elevator, close to Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach beach you crave, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

During your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
