Tricks and tips to get the very best Carolina Beach rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Carolina Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Carolina Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the perfect rental home in the Carolina Beach area:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ruff Life: Bungalow with Easy Beach Access has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is optimal for your family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Carolina Beach destination you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Know before you go:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
