"A Great Escape" is a handsomely decorated 3 bedroom/3 full bathroom bungalow with a peaceful island location and accessories that are ideal for families.

A cavernous floor plan features open living/dining space with an assortment of books, videos, and board games. A den on the first floor with a sleeper couch and sliding barn door for privacy. A bright, cheerful sunroom is located off of the main living area and overlooks the maritime forest. Generous front porch for those just wanting to sit and relax.

Access supplied to the Ibis Roost community pool, which can only be used by Ibis Roost families and their guests (30 homes) and is just a 1 min. walk away. Located in Bald Head Island, this vacation home is near the beach. Bald Head Island Lighthouse and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Kent Mitchell Nature Trail and The Clubs at St. James.   • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses.   • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
