Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your group select vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. My Golden Jewel - Bright and beachy 1 bedroom ocean front condo with pool has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Carolina Beach beach you crave, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
