Rental booking tips and tricks:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Sunset Beach. Book your Carolina Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking the right Carolina Beach rental:

  • Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Continental Motel - well-maintained, pet friendly, studio room close to the beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
