Looking for gasp-worthy panoramas of the shimmering Atlantic on BHI’s High Dunes? This reverse-plan, four-bedroom, 4.5 bath Dudley Parker constructed home is perched up on a wooded, winding drive-emerging above treetops to reveal spectacular seascapes. The home is conveniently located near the center of the Island and close to the Market, island shopping, dining and all clubs and amenities. And most importantly, direct beach access to South Beach is only a 2-min. walk.

This home's first level offers private front and side porches and, inside, its entryway warmly welcomes you to beach living. The first floor offers three, freshly painted and remodeled suites-each include new wood floors, their own private full-bath with granite counters and tiled showers. The first two suites-a King and a Queen-are light-filled rooms with generous closets and storage. The third bedroom is furnished with two twin beds and offers direct access to the front porch.

Upstairs, a vaulted-ceiling open floor plan makes the most of its walls of windows by highlighting ocean panoramas extending from Frying Pan Shoals all the way down South Beach. The bright living space extends to a sizable, covered wraparound sitting porch to appreciate the big ocean vistas, an afternoon gathering or an outdoor lunch or dinner. You’ll spend contented hours with family and friends while relishing shimmering seascapes and savoring drinks and snacks as well as salty breezes. The gourmet kitchen, equipped with a window-surrounded dining table for 8, is equipped with modern stainless appliances, gas stove, coffee bar and generous counter space with both ocean and forested dune vistas. Nearby, a granite breakfast bar offers even more seating. The upstairs Primary suite has a king bed and features breath taking vistas of the ocean and horizon where you will awake to fantastic sunlit vistas. It includes its own access to the sitting porch, a private office and an oversize ensuite bath with double vanity, a water closet, and a huge glass enclosed shower. Conveniently located near the Island's center-close to both the beach and stores and providing access to WWP's 24/7 Property Manager Assistance Line-which means you can reach needed help even after hours or on weekends, this gem is an ideal BHI haven.

The elevator at this property is not for guest use.

Tips for getting the best Carolina Beach rental home experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Carolina Beach area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Carolina Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Narrow your Search:

  • To start, have your family choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Captain Tank's is a Grand 4BR\/4.5BA Dunes Ridge Getaway with Ocean Views! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If not, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

More considerations:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
