  • Private vacation home

Welcome to our home, which we’ve dubbed The Gaudy Pelican. Our uniquely bright orange home features opulent amenities, plenty of spaces to kick-back and relax, a private heated saltwater pool & hottub, and all just steps from the beach! This striking complimentary-standing home offers 4 bedrooms and 3½ baths, ocean vistas, 6 wall-mounted intelligent TVs, an outdoor bar, two huge decks, a shady lanai, kid’s space, office space, and much more. It’s also only a 1-min. walk to the beach and an painless walk along the beach to the Tiki Bar & Grille. The Gaudy Pelican cannot be matched for location, comfort, and amenities.

As you enter the main floor, you will find your welcome basket, filled with goodies just for you! The living room has vaulted ceilings, plenty of seating, a wall-mounted intelligent TV, and a propane fireplace for those cooler comfortable evenings. There’s even a full-sized pullout couch, just in case. There's a bar height counter and a pantry that features a wine refrigerator. The dining area has an upsized table, a bar table, and tons of windows.

You’ll also find a full bath and a private bedroom, “Tenta-cool”, with a king-sized bed, walk-in closet, window seat overlooking the pool, and a wall-mounted intelligent TV.

Down to the ground level you'll discover a roomy bedroom/playroom, “Turtley Awesome”, featuring a wall mounted intelligent TV, bean bag chairs, toys & games, a triple bunk bed, a single bed, and a pullout couch. There’s plenty of room to play ping pong in the attached garage where you can also store all your beach gear. The garage is also equipped with a beach wagon, chairs, an umbrella, and towels for the beach. We’ve even supplied a few bicycles for getting around town on the many bicycle trails found in Carolina Beach.

Also on the ground floor is an over-sized washer and dryer, iron & ironing board, and drying racks. Less fun but very convenient!

On the second floor is the master bedroom suite, “Crab-ulous”, that has a king-sized bed, a private bathroom with a walk-in rain shower, dual sinks, a cavernous walk-in closet, and its own access to the sundeck.

This floor also contains a second bedroom, “Fin-tastic”, with a king-sized bed, vistas overlooking the pool, and an alcove to read or just hide. The alcove couch is also a pullout bed.

All the way at the top, you’ll find an office set up for your convenience, with dual monitors, wireless keyboard, mouse and fast WiFi. We know it’s your vacation, but sometimes we all need to check in, read an e-mail, take a Zoom meeting, or at least appear to be working. It’s here if you need it. We suggest you don’t. Sit by the pool or wander to the beach. It’s so close!

Our top Rental property booking tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Carolina Beach. To find the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area travel guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Beach House Oasis: PRIVATE Pool\/Jacuzzi, Balconies, Ping Pong, Ocean view has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is right for your family.
  • If there's a certain Carolina Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
