Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect rental home experience:

When to book a Carolina Beach rental home & When to go:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in the Carolina Beach area. Reserve your Carolina Beach vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Choosing the perfect vacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Atlantic Horizon: Large 2023 New Construction with a Pool, Elevator and Hot Tub! has 10 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Have a great stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
