Tips to get the perfect Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

When to visit Oak Island & When to reserve a Carolina Beach rental home:

  • To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose and book the perfectrental home:

  • Select your dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Afternoon Delight: Oceanfront, Dog-friendly Home with Sun Deck and Covered Decks has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
