Strategies to get the perfect Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Finding the perfect rental:

  • Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. A Beach Music Paradise: Dog-friendly Island Home with Ocean Views and Easy Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Carolina Beach rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach attraction you love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
