Hazel- 3 Bedroom 2.5 Bath House, 2nd Row with Ocean Vistas, Dog Friendly, Sleeps 6

****Pool heating available October - April for an additional fee - see details below!****

This cozy and comfortable 2nd row beach bungalow is not only ideally located for your beach vacation with the public beach access just 3 homes down and Ocean Crest Pier right close by, but also comes with a lot of amazing history! The home was named Hazel for her exceptional strength and might during Hurricane Hazel which devastated Oak Island in 1954. This home was one of only five homes on the entire island that survived the storm. The original solid cinder blocks with which the home was constructed in 1953 are still intact. Hazel was completely & lovingly restored in 2020, offering you all the modern amenities you are used to in a nice and cozy space to call home while you relax at the beach. You will want for nothing here! An broad screened porch, in-ground pool (with pool heating available for an additional fee), and enclosed outdoor shower were also added during the 2020 renovations. You are sure to appreciate the privacy fence surrounding the pool where you can lounge to your heart's content without all the sand. From the pool area you can access the lower level of the home where you will find a half bathroom and ping-pong table. After gathering your fresh catch from a calming day of fishing out on the beach or at the Ocean Crest Pier, you can come back and grille out the best seafood you've ever tasted! Sit back on the comfortable screened porch and savor your morning coffee or an evening glass of good old southern sweet tea to witness the most spectacular Oak Island sunrises and sunsets paint the sky. Plenty of seating for everybody! If you feel like getting out, there’s tons to do and see on and around Oak Island. Don’t forget the Summer Concerts at Middleton Park, just a few mins.’ drive away. As you experience Hazel, you are sure to find yourself being strengthened and renewed from the storms of everyday life, just as this mighty home, aptly named, encourages us all to be strong and keep living life to the fullest. Finding the best vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summertime is high season in the Carolina Beach area. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the perfect vacation home:

  • Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 3BR\/2.5BA House - 2nd Row, Ocean Views, POOL, DOG FRIENDLY, Sleeps 6 has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your family.
  • If there's an individual Carolina Beach attraction you are enamored with, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
