Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have deals for local tours and attractions.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Carolina Beach area:

  • Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Red Snapper (3-Bedroom Villa) by RedAwning has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain Carolina Beach attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

During your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
