Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by having your family select dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 355 Sandpiper Jake by Sunset Vacations has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
