How to get the best vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Carolina Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the perfect rental in the Carolina Beach area:

  • To start, have your family select a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 200 Steps To Somewhere: Dog-friendly Home with Private Pool Between Beach and Da has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your invoice.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
