Tricks and tips to get the very best Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose and book the right Carolina Beach rental:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 092 Ava Moon by Sunset Vacations has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
