Tips to get the very best Carolina Beach rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Book your Carolina Beach rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have discounts for local tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefect Carolina Beach rental:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Oasis in cape fear station forest with wildlife views has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
