Tips for getting the best Carolina Beach vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your Carolina Beach rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking yourrental home:

  • Start by having your family agree to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Great Parking.\nBeach Access a minute walk. On Waterway. Private Dock.\n has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
