How to find the best vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Carolina Beach area. Booking in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking your Carolina Beach vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. The Beachcomber: Spacious, Family-friendly, Dog-friendly, Oceanfront Home with G has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your trip.
  • If there's a specific Carolina Beach attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
