Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Wrightsville Beach. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose and book the best Carolina Beach rental home:

  • Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Station One - 1B Lee – Oceanfront condo with community pool, tennis, beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
