Carolina Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
Getting the best rental value:
- Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and choose the best Carolina Beach vacation home:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Condo with gorgeous views and Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's a particular Carolina Beach attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
