How to get the best vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Reserve your Carolina Beach vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing the best vacation rental:

  • Start by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Oceanfront, Two bedroom condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If not, email the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
