Tips to get the perfect Carolina Beach rental home experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Ocean Isle Beach. To book the best rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Narrow your Search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront Home 5 Bedroom with Big Oceanfront balcony has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's an individual Carolina Beach beach you long to visit, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
