1 Day At A Time is a four bedroom, four bath home located at the top of Killegray ridge on Bald Head Island! The ocean vistas from this home with all the great deck space will leave you wanting to come back. Downstairs has the living space and one bedroom with two double beds with its own bathroom. The living space downstairs leads to the back porch with rocking chairs to savor your morning coffee with a view. Upstairs will take you to the master king bed with an attached bathroom and another bedroom with two twin beds with its own bath. The best part is there is a separate crofter with its own screened in porch below! The crofter has a king bed with its own bathroom. This home is ideal for your family getaways with plenty of space to spread out and appreciate the great amenities of Bald Head Island. This home has access to the BHI club as well as the Shoals club for separate purchase.

About the Area

Located in Bald Head Island, this vacation home is near the beach. Bald Head Island Lighthouse and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Kent Mitchell Nature Trail and The Clubs at St. James. North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport and Bald Head Island Information Center are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Carolina Beach area. To find the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance.   • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?

  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
