Finding the best vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Carolina Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and picking your prefectvacation home:

  • Start by having your group choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Memories on Grace, near downtown Wilmington and area beaches has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your group.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
