Located on the edge of Bald Head Creek, the Lighthouse Landing cottages have a private walkway that runs along the water. So bring some fishing poles and crab traps for countless enjoyment for the kids and parents alike. Hardly a better deal on the island with plenty of sleeping area.

This four bedroom home is ideal for family vacations and making precious memories. Our Lighthouse Landing 8 is not far from the peaceful beaches in North Carolina and only a short ride to Harbor Village and Old Baldy.

Find your perfect rental:

• Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
• Book your rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
• Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
• Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.

• Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
• To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
• Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
• Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
• Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Record a video to document the condition of the property.
• Did you have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
