Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Carolina Beach. To find the best rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses.   • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
