  • Summertime is high season in Bald Head Island. To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons.   • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses.   • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
