About this Property

“Good Ole Waves” is by far the most darling bungalow on Carolina Beach. It was constructed in the 1930’s and has impressive cedar siding. This bungalow combines all the necessary elements for a comfortable, heartwarming stay from the inside to the front porch, screened in porch, and back deck.

When you enter the property, you make your way through the cozy living area with hearty wood floors and whitewashed walls. As you make your way towards the kitchen, you pass the Queen bedroom and Full bedroom. There is also a Twin daybed. There is access to the main floor bathroom with a charmingly tiled stand-up shower from the hallway. The kitchen has all the essentials including a enormous utility sink to prepare dinner for family or friends. Once dinner is prepared, there is a massive dining table to eat and socialize around.

On the upper level, you will find the primary bedroom with a King bed and en suite bathroom. The primary bedroom is cavernous with alluring ocean vistas. In the primary bathroom, you will find a clawfoot tub that is ideal for soaking in on a calming evening.

The ground floor homes the laundry facility as well as another full bathroom. The closest beach access is Oyster Shell Public access across the street.

Don't miss a spectacular sunrise, the gorgeous donuts at Britt's, watching for playful dolphins, Thursday nighttime fireworks on the beach or the Farmer's Market at the Lake. You'll want to immerse yourself in the myriad of activities offered on Pleasure Island. If it rains, head down south the the Fort Fisher Aquarium, or check out the historical site. Maybe you want to take a ferry ride over to Southport for the day, or perhaps go hiking in the maritime forest of Carolina Beach State Park. Tips for getting the best Carolina Beach vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Carolina Beach area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the perfect vacation home:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Darling 1930s cottage across from ocean! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
