Getting the best Carolina Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Saltwater Shores, A Beachfront Retreat has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective.
