How to find the best rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in Oak Island. Book your Carolina Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Escape to ‘LOST & FOUND’ \nour charming 4Brm & 2.5Bth \nbeach house on Oak Island has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
