Tricks and tips to get the perfect Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Booking in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.

Choosing and booking the rightrental home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Dockside Paradise: Artsy and Eclectic with Views of Intracoastal Waterway has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your invoice.

Know before you go:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
