Finding the best Oak Island rental experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and choose the best Carolina Beach vacation home:

  • First, have your family decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. See The Sea: Oceanview beach cottage in East Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
