Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Ocean Isle Beach. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Carolina Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Carolina Beach vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Lighthouse Lodge- Ocean Isle Beach has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
