Carolina Beach rental home tips and tricks:

Finding the best value:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Carolina Beach area. Reserve your Carolina Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick the perfectrental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Downtown Wilmington home in the Historic District, near to Cape Fear River Walk has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during arrival. message the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
