Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Carolina Beach area. Booking your Carolina Beach vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best rental home:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Chic oceanfront cottage for cozy beach getaway has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a certain Carolina Beach attraction you crave, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
