Tricks and tips to get the best Oak Island vacation property experience:

When to visit Oak Island & When to reserve a Carolina Beach rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Oak Island. Booking in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Finding the best rental in Oak Island:

  • First and foremost, have your group commit to dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Beautiful, Remodeled, Charming 6 Bedroom\/3 Bath, Oceanfront Home-Sleeps 12 has 7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach destination you love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
