Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Carolina Beach area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose dates and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Beach\/golf condo. Beach is less than 5 miles, golf is out the window has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If there's an individual Carolina Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
