Getting the best Sunset Beach vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Summer is high season in Sunset Beach. Book your Carolina Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area travel guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the perfect rental home:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Beach Goals! 4 bedroom 2.5 bath home, just a 5 minute walk to beach!!! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is best for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
