Strategies to get the optimal rental home experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Carolina Beach area. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Carolina Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to select the perfect rental home:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Relax and Enjoy! has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before you book the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

During your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
