Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Carolina Beach area. To book the best rental within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Carolina Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.

Finding the best vacation rental:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Family oasis beach retreat in quiet woodlands has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Carolina Beach rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
