Tips to get the best rental home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Sunset Beach rental home:

  • Summer months are high season in the Carolina Beach area. To get the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfectvacation home:

  • Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. 056 Dutch Treat East Main by Sunset Vacations has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Carolina Beach rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
