Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation property experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Carolina Beach area. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental:

  • Select vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Whalers Paradise Summ has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

During your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
