Rental property booking tips:

When to reserve a Carolina Beach rental home & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Holden Beach. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. \"Waters Edge 431-A\" - Oceanfront Condo w\/ Community Pool, 2 Bedrooms \/ 2 Bathrooms has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
