Rental home booking tips and tricks:

Getting the best value:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Carolina Beach area. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Carolina Beach restaurants and activities.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and pick a perfect Carolina Beach vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Turtle Time has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
