• June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
• Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
• Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
