Oak Island rental booking tips:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Booking your Carolina Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Filter your search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. The Rectory: Beach Cottage Close to Recreation Center and Marsh Crossover to Oce has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Carolina Beach rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
