Strategies to get the optimal Carolina Beach vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • Booking your Carolina Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select your dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Tar Healin': 4 Bed\/4.5 Bath Home with Ocean Views. has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
  • If there's an individual Carolina Beach destination you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
