Strategies to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Wrightsville Beach. To get the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

How to pick the perfect rental in the Carolina Beach area:

  • To start, have your family agree to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Station One - 6K Spalt - Oceanfront condo with community pool, tennis, beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
